Day 1: Arrival in Madrid
On your arrival in Madrid, meet our representative and you will be transferred to your hotel. Unwind for a while and then you can explore your surroundings.
Day 2: Madrid Sightseeing Tour with Prado Museum
Today morning, proceed for a half day guided tour of Madrid. See the main sights including Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace, Plaza de los Cibeles and much more, then enjoy an in-depth guided tour of the world-famous Prado to study works by the likes of Hieronymus Bosch, El Greco, Velazquez and Goya. Discover the wealth of grandiose Renaissance and baroque architecture bequeathed by the Habsburg and Bourbon monarchs while driving through the Puerta Del Sol, Plaza Mayor and Plaza de la Villa. Continue towards the Royal Palace – the largest in Europe – and the famous Cibeles and Neptuno fountains, and the Puerta de Alcala. Explore contemporary Madrid with boulevards such as Gran Via, Paseo de la Castellana, the upmarket district of Salamanca, Plaza de Castilla, Parque del Oeste, the university, the emblematic Las Ventas Bullring and the Bernabeu Stadium. Visit the Prado Museum, home to some of the greatest artworks ever created, and study the works of four masters. Later in the afternoon you are free to explore Madrid on your own. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 3: Toledo Full Day Tour with Lunch
Toledo, a Unesco World Heritage Site, is situated in the heart of ancient Castile atop a rock in a bend of the River Tagus. Toledo is one of Europe’s oldest settlements and is considered a museum city of great artistic beauty. It is also known as the City of Three Cultures where Christians, Muslims and Jews lived together. Visit the stunning cathedral, with its splendid architecture displaying a range of Spanish Gothic styles. The interior also contains numerous art treasures such as stained glass windows, the choir, main chapel, altarpieces, paintings by El Greco and much, much more. Visit all the most iconic landmarks such as the St. Tomé church, home to Conde de Orgaz’s tomb, see El Greco’s masterpiece; the Santa María la Blanca Synagogue; the San Juan de los Reyes Monastery and the Mosque of El Cristo de la Luz. See how in Toledo they traditionally forge steel for their swords. Be amazed at the incredible detail and craftsmanship of the various metals. At midday you can take a well-earned rest and enjoy either a set lunch menu. The tour will end with a beautiful panoramic view of Toledo before you’re driven back to Madrid. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 4: Transfer from Madrid to Barcelona Flamenco Show
Today check-out and travel on your own to the Madrid railway station to take the high speed train to Barcelona. After 3 hours, you will reach Barcelona, the Catalonian capital. Walk to your hotel and check-in and relax for some time. Experience the fire and passion of Spain’s national dance at Tablao Flamenco Cordobés, one of Barcelona's top flamenco venues, located in heart of the Ramblas. Enjoy an evening of spectacular entertainment in sumptuous surroundings that are reminiscent of the Alhambra in Granada under the roof where some of the greatest names in flamenco have performed over the years, bequeathing the tablao with a legendary status.The Tablao Flamenco Cordobés is the ideal setting for a romantic and intimate evening as you experience an interpretation of the most passionate of art forms. You'll see how singing, dancing and music is combined to provide a spectacle packed with fire, drama and passion. Improvisation is a key element of flamenco, with each artist individually interpreting the rhythm and communicating the beat to the other performers, giving flamenco the rawness that aficionados so crave. Communication between the artists and audience is a vital part of the performance.
Day 5: Barcelona Highlights with Sagrada Familia
Get your bearings of the city on a comprehensive full day tour of the best of Barcelona. The tour will start at Passeig de Gracia, an elegant boulevard dating from the early 20th Century. Here we'll find two of visionary architect Antoni Gaudi's most emblematic creations, Casa Mila and Casa Batllo. We'll go on a tour of Casa Batllo, your guide will provide you with a wealth of details and fascinating snippets of information about this incredible building. Next stop is a guided tour of La Sagrada Familia, Gaudi's great unfinished masterwork. We'll continue down to the old port, a recently renovated area, extending the city centre from the Rambla down to the sea. In this attractive area, popular with locals and tourists alike you'll find a wealth of restaurants, shops, nightclubs and frequent open-air entertainment.
Day 6: Full Day Montessarat + Barcelona Highlights
Today take a air conditioned coach journey out of Barcelona and climb the majestic mountains of Montserrat to a height of over 1,200m. Shaped over the centuries by erosion from wind and rain, the rocks up here have taken remarkable forms and inspired myths and legends for centuries. Visit the stunning Abbey of Santa Maria of Montserrat, built in the 11th century and home to a highly important shrine of the Virgin of Montserrat, also known as “The Black Virgin”. Then head back into the city to take in the best works of one of Catalonia’s favourite sons, Antoni Gaudí. Visit the spectacular and famously unfinished Basilica de la Sagrada Familia, the spectacular, modernist Parc Güell and Paseo de Gracia, which features the famous Casa Batllò and la Pedrera. Learn the history and admire the beauty of these structures as your guide leads you through the centre of Barcelona.
Day 7: Departure from Barcelona
